Ocean - people interactions

Oceans and people have always had a very deep bond starting thousands of years ago (to be exact almost 35,000 years ago) when humans as a species started traveling across oceans in search of new lands, opportunities, and resources. Since then, oceans and the biodiversity therein have been a source of travel, food, ornaments, and joy! But interactions between humans and oceans through the years have started having strong negative impacts on oceans, its biodiversity and thereby us. Considering this deep bond and ancient history, we can consider conserving oceans and rebuilding its health as our duty!!

Let us take a broad look into the problems our ocean, its biodiversity and we face today…
Overexploitation - edible and inedible resources
Pollution - chemical and physical
Shipwrecks
Development
All of these compounded with the burgeoning human population is contributing to the CLIMATE CRISIS
