DESCRIPTION
The manta rays landed in the Mudasalodai landing centre, Parangipettai in the morning. It's caught as a bycatch in the Mahi Mahi/ Dolphinfish fishery. It's been exported to kerala for consumption. It's fetches ₹ 200 - 250 / kg. It's caught in a multidayer fishing ( 18 days ) boat which travels to about 81 Nautical miles. They use hook and lines in the morning and gill nets in the night time to capture fishes
