DESCRIPTION
This Sailfish was collected from the Mudasal Odai landing centre. The fishermen were primarily targeting Swordfish and Dolphinfish during their expedition. However, the Sailfish was caught as a bycatch. The fishing was carried out using hook and line methods, with fishermen spending up to 28 days in the deep sea. The Sailfish is sold at the landing centre for a price ranging between ₹300 and ₹350 per kilogram. These fishes are mainly exported to Kerala.
